Working Processes: Creating my Branding Logo

To create my logo there were three things I definitely wanted:
  • It to be red
  • Have A for my name
  • Have the A cut out - leaving it transparent
It was just the case of choosing what shape the A would go inside and what font the A would be.

In Photoshop, I browsed through each of the fonts I had and the one of which grabbed my attention the most was one called Freestyle Script, a font which is available on the majority of Windows Computers. I liked how the A had been crossed off and it reminded me of my own handwriting.

Going through the shapes available, including the Pologon, I thought that the A looked the best inside the Circle.

I placed the A on top of the Circle. Since the A was on a different layer, I control+clicked the A in the layers, which selected the outline of the A, then clicked on the Circle layer and deleted it. This left an A in the middle of the Circle and was transparent inside as well as around the outside.

My ending result looked like this:
